The Dyson Foundation grant will provide financial assistance (based on income) for those who cannot afford the $45 daily fee and have no other source of funding for the services, such as Managed Medicaid programs or EISEP (Expanded In-home Services for the Elderly) funds. Deborah Glassey, the Executive Director of Always There, “thanks the Dyson Foundation for its support of Always There’s mission to assist seniors to remain at home with their loved ones where they are most comfortable rather than in an institution.”The Always There Adult Day Program is approved by the New York State Office for Aging and is currently open every Wednesday from 9 am to 3 pm. The Clinton Alliance Church graciously donates the space and provides volunteers for the program. The program provides quality opportunities for the frail elderly and disabled to socialize and participate in activities that provide mental stimulation and promote physical well-being. Activities include visits by a pet therapist and the local librarian as well as chair exercises and brain games. A morning snack and lunch are provided. The program also gives the caregiver a needed break.
